With Columbia Bank's Lockbox services, your customers mail payments directly to a post office box in your company's name. Your mail is retrieved from the Portland Main Post Office several times a day, the payments are scanned, processed, and electronically delivered as images for clearing. You can receive daily reports via the internet detailing all payments received, see copies of the scanned checks, and receive electronic copies of any other information received with the check, including invoices and correspondence. The advantage is that the checks are already on their way through the clearing process, giving you faster access to your funds as well as faster access to information necessary for updating your accounts receivable.
